Wmd, has always sounded to me like another catchy phrase put out there by Madison Avenue , just as the term "collateral damage", puts a label on the innocent men, women, and children killed in war. Could "shock and awe" be yet another madison avenue term for bombing innocent people? Could the term "insurgents" or "extremists" be the same people who willingly gave up their weapons and invited our soldiers in for breakfast as my friend Adam told me? Adam is with the "101st airborne", (I think), and had to strap his mortar tube to his chest when he boarded planes with his parachute on his back; he was told that the radiation was inside the tube and was safe; if it was so safe, how did that radiation light up the mortar which was it's original purpose?
Oil for food, doesn't that sound like extortion?
(your people will die from starvation if you do not give us oil)
another madison avenue advertisement.
Doesn't the constitution state somewhere that if
you are going to commit an act of aggression against another country, that
you are supposed to declare war against that country first?
Over one million children suffered and died due
to the sanctions enacted by Tony Blair and Bush senior.
Are sanctions that kill one million children exempt
from the Constitution?
Can you imagine what it must feel like
to give up your weapons to soldiers who
came into your country, invite them in for breakfast and then have them
bomb your country in their search for nonexistent wmd, and in their search
for saddam? Can someone give me the logic and reasoning behind killing
someone who invites you into their home?
The suffering of our soldiers and the innocent
people is a reality that people carry from generation to generation, who
benefits?
When George Bush senior pioneered the sanctions
against Iraq, many years ago, did he really think that pencils
would be used to make nuclear weapons?
Aren't weapons tipped with depleted
uranium, nuclear?
After all, that is what our military has been
using to poison our own soldiers and the people in other countries that
are defending themselves against an aggressor.
(I am well aware that I am simplifying things here, and am well aware that Saddam was barbaric, but remember this, many of our leaders have promoted these wars in the most simplistic way possible because they have a low opinion of us and most people in the world. They were born elite, the finest food, the finest schools.)
Now that we have Saddam can we end the war? Nahhh, hundreds of thousands must die to be heaped upon the millions before them, after all, the millionaires and billionaires who have advocated these policies do not have enough money and power yet. They never will, where there are more innocent nations to conquer, they will be there ruining the peace and happiness that could be possible if all of us would just stick together as a union of people.
Last year, my daughter met a 23 year old guy just
back from Iraq; his sergent told him to run over anyone who got in his
way, so he ran over a four year old child with a Hummer.
He told my daughter: "I am not a good person"
He was following orders.
Met a cool guy, Bert Hill, he was standing in line with me at a supermarket in Oregon buying a little jar of peppers; he told me how they used to climb the walls of the mountain in Korea in search of peppers and that when the war ended, they let the starving Japanese come out of the caves and eat in the mess hall.
My friend Charley told me that his best friend from high school was ordered by his sergeant to machine gun to death Vietnam villagers, men, women, and children. He did as he was told and when, thirty years later he applied for coverage for his many malignant tumors caused by agent orange, he was told that he was not eligible for veterans benefits because he was a war criminal.
As one of the security guards in my apartment complex
told me about his time in Korea when the Secretary of Defense came to show
support for the troops:
"We searched the motor pool records for any sign
of the Secretary's use of any motor vehicle and could not find any sign
of him visiting us;
later on, it was found that the Secretary never
left the whorehouse in Seoul."
